The Creative Corner’s Summer Art Camp is a 4-week hands-on experience designed to help young artists explore different mediums, build confidence, and develop their own creative voice.

Each week focuses on a new area of art, allowing students to experiment, learn new techniques, and create finished pieces they’re proud of.

✏️ Week 1: Cartoonist Club (Character Design & Storytelling)

Students will dive into the world of cartooning and character creation.

Day 1:

  • Learn how to build a character from scratch

  • Explore facial expressions, emotions & personality

  • Practice drawing different poses

Day 2:

  • Develop a character story

  • Create a mini comic or character sheet

  • Guest artist demo + inspiration

🎨 Week 2: Painting Week (Color, Canvas & Technique)

Students will learn foundational painting skills while creating their own canvas artwork.

Day 1:

  • Introduction to color theory (mixing colors, palettes)

  • Brush techniques + layering

  • Start a guided canvas painting

Day 2:

  • Continue and refine painting

  • Add details, texture, and highlights

  • Complete and take home finished artwork

🧵 Week 3: Craft Lab (DIY & Mixed Media Exploration)

A hands-on week focused on building, experimenting, and creating with different materials.

Day 1:

  • Pot painting + plant activity 🌱

  • Design + personalize functional art

Day 2:

  • Mixed media project (collage, texture, or sensory art)

  • Creative exploration with various materials

🖌️ Week 4: Final Projects + Artist Showcase

Students will bring everything they’ve learned together into a final project.

Day 1:

  • Plan and sketch final piece

  • Choose medium (painting, drawing, or mixed media)

  • Begin final artwork

Day 2:

  • Complete final project

  • Mini art showcase + presentation

  • Celebrate each student’s work 🎉
